When I was in middle school, I had stomach and intestines problem caused by too much eating. I had angular cheilitis, lost hair, nails became thinner like paper and I became 5mm smaller despite the fact that I was in growth phase.
I lost total body weight to around 38kg with the stress of university entrance exam. I was literally skin and bone. I was so thin that I could point out where the food I’ve eaten is moving in my intestine.
Though I went to the training gym and ate a lot, I couldn't gain weight for about a year. When I almost gave up, I gained weight for another reason and I recovered gradually to around 50kg.
With this experience, I realized that I was doing the exact opposite of the theory.
Gaining weight is not decided only by comparison of calorie intake and consumption.
That was my encounter with “intestinal starvation” which made me write this blog.
♦Start working as a cook from age of 26.
♦Open my first restaurant at age of 34.
With various trouble happening at once, close the restaurant.
I’ve always wanted to write about my theory of “mechanism of gaining weight” since when I was in my 20s. When I lost everything, I realized that this is what I’m made to do. Many previous failures in my life turned out to be a precious enriching experience for me.
